X through its Safety platform announced on Tuesday that it’s partnering with Thorn to create a safe platform. The aim is to fight child sexual exploitation online and create a safe platform.
“Through our ongoing partnership with @thorn, we’re doing more to create a safe platform. X was involved in testing Thorn’s solution during its beta phase to proactively detect text-based child sexual exploitation. This work builds on our relentless efforts to combat child sexual exploitation online, with the specific goal of expanding our capabilities in fighting high-harm content where a child is at imminent risk,” X Safety said.
X safety added, saying that “Our work to stop child sexual exploitation online remains a top priority for X. We are steadfast in continuing this important work and committed to deepening partnerships that allow us to continually improve our approach to safeguarding our platform.”
According to the report, Thorn’s predictive AI proactively identifies, based on the context of the conversation, possible discussions of child access, child sexual abuse, child sexual abuse material (CSAM), self-generated CSAM, and sextortion.
